I’m singing Cozzolani’s Vespro della Beata Vergine together with Göteborg Baroque under Magnus Kjellson. ”…the nuns in the Santa Radegonda-monastery are known as the best singers in Italy […] who fill the heart with surprise”, the gentleman Filippo Picinelli reported in 1670 when he witnessed Chiara Margarita Cozzolanis musical artistry in her monastery Santa Radegonda. Cozzolani was for many years a prominent composer, and in this concert, we perform her most well known and well loved piece: Vespro della Beata Vergine.
